A Look Back at the First Half of the Year in Washington

Statement

It is hard to believe that we are almost past the first half of this year. The past few months have been full of important wins that bring our Oklahoma values to Washington.

Already this year, the U.S. House of Representatives has helped our veterans gain better access to health care, voted to reverse the president's executive power grab on immigration, fought for energy independence and passed bills that simplify America's complicated and confusing tax code.

We have also fought and will continue to fight Obamacare by working to repeal this flawed law and peel back some of the act's most unpopular parts.

Despite all of these wins, we cannot let up. In order to pass good-government laws, the White House needs to get out of the way and work constructively with the majority in Congress.

Luckily, we have already seen this work. When Congress sent the president a bill protecting seniors and strengthening Medicare--the first of its kind in decades--the country saw what is possible when individuals set personal ambitions aside and work together for all Americans.

When Oklahomans elected me to serve a second term in Congress, I pledged to reverse the president's failed policies and fight for the values that guide our families and our communities. I have done this and will continue to do so. But, I cannot represent your views without hearing your voice. That is why I appreciate your input on the important issues being debated by Congress.

Please stay in touch. You can always reach my team in my offices in Washington (202-225-2701), Muskogee (918-687-2533) and McAlester (918-423-5951). You can also write to me directly though my website: www.mullin.house.gov.

It is an incredible honor and privilege to serve the communities and families I grew up and worked with my entire life.

May God bless you, and may God bless America!
